One of our collaborators in Circular Economy, Dr. Ching Seong TAN, Co-founder & CEO of Terra Phoenix & iCycle, will be in Singapore this Saturday and has agreed to drop by and do a fireside chat with us at 4pm @freestyle room in NTUpreneur. Dr TAN is one of the most passionate advocates of circular economy and sustainability, a HERO in Circular Economy. His solution for driving zero waste in cities and communities (powered by IoT and AI) has been proven effective and endorsed by global governments, ADB, and the World Bank.
He will present “Enabling a fully circular supply chain through double neutrality waste management.”
Dr. Ching Seong Tan is the founding CEO of Terra Phoenix, Phoenix Holdings Pte Ltd, a holding company of circular economy system solution providers, including iCycle, which is an upstream intelligent waste management solution. He won iTEX (National Invention and Exhibition) gold medal in 2009 and 2017 in Malaysia. His start-up Terra Phoenix was the best startup of the year in 2017 in Malaysia (iTEX), won the Gold Medal Invention in the International Invention Convention 2018 in Fosun, China, and was shortlisted as the 100 most wanted social enterprise in Asia 2018 by NUS-DBS Trust. Dr. Tan is also a Professor at HangZhou DianZi University, HangZhou, Zhejiang Province, China. Concurrently, he received Top Talent ZheJiang Province in 2022 and ShaoXing City Talent in 2019 China. He also received a J. William Fulbright Award in 2012/2013 and was a Golden Heart Award recipient 2019. He has won the 2nd runner award in the International Talent Entrepreneurship Conference in 2023, in China. Dr. Tan received his first degree in 1998 at the University of Malaya. He then worked in Schlumberger (Drilling and Measurement) as the Drilling Services Engineer before joining NTU Singapore and graduating with his PhD in Engineering in 2005.
