Biography
Dr. LIU Lerwen is an Associate Professor in Entrepreneurship (Practice) at NTU Entrepreneurship Academy (NTUpreneur). She focuses on impact-driven entrepreneurship education and practices. She supports emerging technology-driven innovation and global entrepreneurship ecosystem building towards digital and green social and economic transformation.
Dr. LIU has over 25 years of global business development experience supporting research commercialization & impact and nurturing start-ups. She is a resource person and technical consultant for the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the United Nations agencies in the fields of circular economy, sustainability, emerging technologies, and technopreneurship. She specializes in strategic development, assessment, and emerging technologies (including nanotechnology, solar PV, industry 4.0, etc), with applications in all sectors.
She is the founding director of STEAM Platform, focusing on youth empowerment with convergent STEM knowledge, strategic communication skills, entrepreneurship for SDGs2030, Circular Economy, and Industry 4.0.
Dr. Liu obtained a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of New South Wales (NSW), Australia. Her academic research areas cover semiconductor transports and nanostructure studies, and later on, entrepreneurship ecosystem and circular economy studies.
She is an author and co-editor of the 1st Textbook, “An Introduction to Circular Economy,” published by Springer Nature in Dec. 2020 (ISBN: 978-981-15-8509-8, at link.springer.com/book/10.1007/978-981-15-8510-4). This book was awarded the Springer Nature’s China Development Award in 2021. She is the editor of “Emerging Nanotechnology Power: Nanotechnology R& D and Business Trends In The Asia Pacific Rim, published by World Scientific in 2009. She is the editor-in-chief of the Handbook of Circular Economy Global Leadership to be published by Springer Nature, with the 1st handbook to be launched in Q1 2025.
